The innovative Ford Sync AppLink system allows drivers to safely use their smartphone applications while driving. This includes accessing your favorite songs, artists, or musical genres on Pandora, listening to podcasts or radio shows with Stitcher SmartRadio, or staying connected to Twitter with OpenBeak, all by using simple voice commands.
“We understand more and more drivers are using their devices and their apps while in the car,” said Doug VanDagens, director of Ford Connected Services Solutions. “Ford is a part of the solution, offering voice-activated options such as Ford SYNC with AppLink on a broader range of our products, which gives more customers a smarter way to access their apps while driving that keeps their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.”
Ford’s vision for the AppLink system does not stop with these existing applications, however. App developers interested in improving existing mobile applications for AppLink or even creating their own app can connect with Ford through the Ford Sync Mobile Application Developer Network. Currently, more than 2,500 developers have expressed interest in creating applications for the Ford Sync AppLink system.
