The Gold Buying Girl Partners with Houstonians to Raise Funds for the Berry Children

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 03, 2011 - HOUSTON—Tuesday, August 2, 2011 — One month after the July 2, 2011 car crash that took the lives of Joshua and Robin Berry, Houstonians are pulling together to raise money to support the three surviving Berry children, ranging in age from 6-9 years. The Gold Buying Girl announced today its partnership with other concerned Houstonians to host a gold buying event on August 9, 2011, from 4-8 pm that will raise funds for the Joshua and Robin Berry Children’s Trust visit http://www.facebook.com/BerryChildren?sk=app_156218351098324. The event will be held at 10011 Pine Forest Drive, Houston, TX  77042 and is open to the public.

“Gold prices are at an all-time high so a gold buying event presents an amazing way for us to raise a good amount of money for these children,” said Amy Robinette, the founder of The Gold Buying Girl. “I see kids having lemonade stands and bake sales to help out the Berry family. I can help, too. I really hope Houstonians will come out to this event on August 9th and help this family.”

Nonprofits often work with The Gold Buying Girl company to host events where guests sell their unwanted gold, platinum and silver. Damaged and broken pieces are accepted. The nonprofit typically earns 10 percent of the proceeds. In this case, Robinette said that The Gold Buying Girl will actually donate a total of 15 percent of the event proceeds to the Berry Children’s Trust. Guests may also choose to donate all proceeds of a single item or more to the trust, boosting the fundraising total quickly.
