For more than 50 years, Elk Rapids and its surrounding communities have come together to celebrate Harbor Days. The festival kicks off with Evening on River Street, an old-fashioned street fair with food, drinks and live music. The four-day event continues with fun-filled, family activities such as a carnival, Kids Day, cherry bake-off, diaper derby, senior bingo, a movie in the park, a bake sale, dunk tank, kids water ball, sandcastle building, and more. On Aug. 6, the festival wraps up with a parade and a fireworks display.
When owners are finished with the day’s activities, they can make the short drive back to their Mountian Run Resort. Boyne Mountain in Michigan is the Midwest’s largest ski area, and Bluegreen’s Mountain Run puts owners at the peak of the action. Skiers can take advantage of 14 lifts and more than 50 trails for all skill levels. Snowboarders can slide and jump their way through the terrain park. Plus, some Mountain Run villas offer owners the ability to ski in/ski out at the base of the Super Bowl, one of the most popular black-diamond runs.
