"Triunfo YMCA family programs are a great way for dads to spend more time with their kids," says Peter Penna, Triunfo YMCA program director. "It will be a year filled with fun, age-appropriate activities." Tribes hold in-home meetings, attend local events, camp and have overnight weekends.
The Y-Papooses program is for preschoolers. Kids and dads will take part in monthly meetings, arts and crafts projects and field trips. Indian Guides and Y-Indian Princes are for kids in kindergarten through second grade. Father and child will form friendships with other dads and kids while participating in monthly gatherings where they will participate in games and arts and crafts. Field trips and camping are also planned.
Trailblazers are for kids in third through sixth grades. Kids will learn leadership and responsibility skills and will be provided with more challenging and varied experiences. Planned activities include a Soap Box Derby, winter camp and field trips.
Other YMCA branches also offer family programs for mom, dads and their children.
