Christian Hughes, Managing Director of Curly Productions, successfully pitched for the project. Each film explores a different aspect of the outdoors, from walking, camping and a weekend break on the Isle of Wight. Each features key partners including HF Holidays, the Ramblers and Forest Holidays. The first film showcased the Lake District, beginning at Coniston Water, the Old Man of Coniston before heading to Tarn Hows and exploring the heritage in ‘Beatrix Potter’ country at a home owned by the writer. The second film in the New Forest took in new mod cons at the campsite and explored hidden gems on its doorstep from Lyndhurst, Bournemouth’s coast and some local food and drink. The final film, shot on the Isle of Man took in the ferry to Yarmouth, cycling across the island and watersports off its coast. Each film was presented by Jodie Kidd.
The episodes were shot in High Definition using a 3 man crew from Curly Productions over 3 days.
Christian believes brands are starting to grasp the creative potential of online content. “The audience wants more than just a website with a list of products. Video is a great way to showcase what you do and become a producer, having control over how your brand is broadcast. If you want to reach a younger market then it’s worth knowing under 35s spend over half their time watching videos online. Video is incredibly accessible, not overly expensive and broadcast quality. The turnaround for this project from pitch to shoot and then edit has been under two months. The flexibility of the creative industry now means you can easily source and retain the skills and talent you need to help boost your visibility and engagement with your audience online.”
