While having his own late-night talk show is an achievement, Leno has had the fortune and notoriety of doing it twice. In 1992, he replaced Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. That lasted until 2009, when NBC decided to experiment moving Leno to primetime at 10 p.m. When sufficient ratings were not achieved for that time slot, NBC moved Leno back to hosting The Tonight Show. This event was considered so unique that it has since turned into a movie and book. One thing that has remained consistent though is that Leno has continued to always perform stand-up comedy during his T.V. schedule.
