Commercial Induction Hobs Aid Village SOS at Talgarth Mill

Talgarth Mill Waterside Cafe And Bakery Talgarth Mill Waterside Cafe And Bakery PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 12, 2011 - This community project was recently featured on the BBC1 Village SOS program with Sarah Beeny.  The program followed the restoration progress of the water mill from derelict empty shell to fully functioning flour mill, with a community bakery and café.

Local volunteers, helped by main contractors Osborne Building Contractors, turned the site into a fantastic community asset bringing together the local community, providing jobs and restoring the beating heart back into the village.

The motion of the water wheel turning and the rumble of mill stones had not been heard since 1946 but flour is now being produced and used in the bakery providing locally produced products for The Bakers Table café with riverside location.

Landscaped river walks form a tranquil setting to reflect on days gone by when the mill was the heart of the community and wonder at this transformation where it is now the catalyst to regenerate and invigorate the local community once again.

This beacon project is set to inspire many more and by pulling together communities, demonstrating best practice and by using the best of old world technology and skills together with the latest green, environmentally friendly equipment in the kitchen, this in turn will ensure a sustainable self funding initiative which can be maintained for the community by the community.

Target Catering Equipment, local induction cooking equipment manufacturers, were proud to have been chosen to design and supply the kitchen for the mill cafe and bakery located in this listed building in a conservation area and area of outstanding natural beauty.

Further information about the Talgarth Mill project, including opening times of the cafe and bakery, can be found at www.talgarthmill.com

# # # About Ocean Village - Gibraltar's Ocean Village is fast-gathering a reputation for being the rising star in the superyacht arena and is now competing with the most established marinas across the Mediterranean.
Located on the west side of Gibraltar, Ocean Village is the most sheltered marina in the region with close-up views of Africa some 14km across the Straits. As the ‘gateway to the Mediterranean’, it provides a base for sailing across the Atlantic or exploring the marinas and beaches which populate the North African, Spanish and Portuguese coastlines.
Aside from geography, the Rock itself has obvious appeal to yacht owners. Gibraltar has Cat 1 Red Ensign Group status, EU membership and is the most important ship refuelling point in the Mediterranean thanks to cut-price fuel. It also has a favourable system of taxation (including no VAT), a no surprises legal system based on the UK and pound sterling as its currency.

Steel Band Set to Bring the Caribbean to Gibraltar’s Ocean Village

Denmark may be far from tropical, yet it has produced one of the finest steel bands on the circuit – the “Steel Hammers”. The 12-piece ensemble will be bringing a flavour of the Caribbean to Gibraltar’s Ocean Village on Monday 18 July at 9pm.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 13, 2011 – Denmark may be far from tropical, yet it has produced one of the finest steel bands on the circuit – the “Steel Hammers”.  Having toured across Europe, the 12-piece ensemble will be bringing a flavour of the Caribbean to Gibraltar’s Ocean Village on Monday 18 July at 9pm.  Make your way to Leisure Island and let your imagination drift off to a sun-soaked Caribbean Island…

Hailing from the Allerød Music School, in a small Danish town just north of Copenhagen, the Steel Hammers are a young, energetic group with an average age of just 26.  Covering a wide repertoire of calypso, cha cha, mambo and more, you’ll recognise some of your favourites from Santana to Stevie Wonder and even Jean-Michel Jarre played out on authentic acoustic steel drums.

As audiences in Berlin, Munich, Rotterdam, Paris, Nice, Barcelona, Verona, Florence and Málaga will testify, it’s almost impossible not to move your feet to the contagious beats of the Steel Hammers.  The atmosphere is warm and sociable and, the more you dance, the better they play.

For further information on this Caribbean Evening with the Steel Hammers, keep an eye on Ocean Village’s -1241008838  Official FaceBook Group - https://www.facebook.com/OceanVillageGibraltarOFFICIAL or follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/#!/OceanVillageGib.
