Whether she’s talking about herself, relationships or the world we live in, Brown offers a variety that appeals to all. One-dimensional she is not and you will never see the same set twice. “Once I get rolling, I feed off of my crowd, I love bringing them into my world,” explains Brown. “I believe in being able to give the crowd what they want and I’m able to take my set in any direction at the drop of a dime.”

Marinalife Hosts Second Annual Best Marinas Contest

2011 Best Marina ContestPRLog (Press Release) – Aug 01, 2011 – Marinalife—the full-service online concierge service for boaters—announced today the opening of online voting for its 2011 Best Marinas Contest. Voting is open August 1-October 15 on http://www.marinalife.com/marinacontest. Marinalife members and boaters are invited to vote for the Best Transient Marina and the Marina with the Best Customer Service. The annual Best Marinas contest is a way for the active boating community to pay accolades to the marinas that contribute to their positive boating experiences throughout the season.

Transient marinas are integral to coastal cruising and are popular with boaters who follow a snowbird schedule or explore ports along different waterways. Boaters often look for amenities like easy access to fuel and pump out facilities, dog-friendly areas, wifi networks and perhaps restaurants or other shopping opportunities at transient marinas. Marinas that offer the best customer service will stand out in a boater’s mind perhaps from an interaction with a dockhand, reservation staff or dockmaster; and often, those positive customer service experiences will mean positive reviews and references for the marina.

In 2010, the Nantucket Boat Basin in Nantucket, Massachusetts, was voted as the Best Transient Marina and Haven Harbour Marina in Rock Hall, Maryland was selected for Best Customer Service.

There are over 8600 marinas in the Marinalife database that cover the cruising areas of the U.S., Canada, Bahamas, Caribbean, and Central America and they are all eligible to be selected as the 2011 Best Marinas. The winning marinas will be recognized at the Marinalife booth at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, reviewed in the Winter 2011-2012 issue of Marinalife Magazine and will receive a marketing package valued at $2000.

Whether a voter is a seasonal slipholder, year round marina resident, or simply a transient guest of a marina, the Best Marinas Contest is a chance to highlight the marinas that have gone above and beyond in the categories of Transient Service and overall Best Customer Service. Joy McPeters, CEO of Marinalife notes, “Boaters have posted thousands of marina reviews on our website but this contest is a chance for us to recognize on a larger, and more public scale, the marinas that really stand out to boaters as the best.”

Marinalife provides comprehensive cruising solutions through innovative trip-planning tools like Navigation Alerts and the Nautical Chartviewer, an online reservation system, marina recommendations, preferred dockage and fuel rates for members, and online features such as cruise templates, marina reviews and a fuel locator. The Best Marinas Contest is one more way that Marinalife connects the active boater with marinas and cruising services. Boaters can vote August 1-October 15 and voting can be done on marinalife.com/marinacontest.
